“Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:16-20
“Remember, I am with you always…even to the end of the age.” This was in our morning Bible study at breakfast with our girls. My daughter’s school has no cafeteria, so she gets a lunch packed every day. I usually try to send her a note saying, have a great day, I love you and sometimes a joke. I list at the bottom with a P.S. and an arrow to flip over to find the answer. She enjoys the reminder that I am here thinking of her at lunch. Every day she goes into the world shining her light. She is trying to be a follower of God. I am reminded that Jesus gave us one job to do before He left. Go and make disciples and a reminder that P.S. remember I am with you always even to the end of the age. What an encouraging word! The Lord is with us! The Lord is with us when we share of Him, when we are rejected by the world, and He is with us in the rejoicing of others. This is a great reminder than when we are lunching with the those who may not know the Lord, that He is with us.
In the Bible, we are told that the Lord is with us and will never leave us or forsake us. Somehow, looking at those words this morning spoke to me in a new way. The very last words from Jesus, were of love and reassurance, to us! Before a day begins, the Lord knows what is ahead and has prepared us for it. This note from the Lord, was filled with everything we need, go and tell others of Him and remember He is with us!
One day those who know the Lord, will be reunited with Him in Heaven and that time will be sweet! We will see how He was with us every step of the way, shaping us, molding us, helping us as we served Him faithfully. Today, be reminded that the Lord left you a very special note, crafted just for you – a reminder that He loves you and will be with you always!
