“Look to the Lord and His strength; seek His face always.”

Psalm 105:4

Driving from home to school takes us on average about twenty minutes. We listen to the radio, talk, pray and sometimes drive in silence. One thing we have to monitor is the radio reception. As we get further from home, the reception becomes full of static, and we have to search for the same station on a different channel. Once we stop and look for the radio station, we can find it on another channel and find a more reliable connection.

In Psalms, we are told to look to the Lord and His strength, we see it is an admonition to not be looking at other things or people for strength or answers. Just like the static on the radio, we may hear bits of what the Lord may be trying to tell us, but we find it difficult to clearly hear Him over the static. There are other stations cutting in and sometimes the silence of no connection at all. But if we take time to tune in to the right location, we find that the connection comes in clearly and we can hear what is being said. As we go about our day, we are able to make sure we are in tune with the Lord. Being in tune with the Lord allows us to hear what He is saying, praise the Lord with music, and hear other encouraging things that the Lord has done! Next time you are hearing only static in your prayer life, stop and check the channel connection, and tune in to the Lord’s channel!
